Friday

Okay, what else was there to hit in Paris? The Arc de Triomphe, of course. This panel was in the Metro station on the way there. It reads, ‘To cut the current on the rails, break the glass, pull the handle … ALL ABUSE WILL BE PUNISHED’. I feel like by the time anyone made it to this box, read the instructions, broke the glass (without mutilating their hand), and pulled the handle, the person who fell would already be crispy on the rails. Either that or smushed by a train, since one goes by every half minute or so.

Mom had to go to the bathroom on the way, and what luck! Public toilets!

Benevolent tourism gods were smiling, since entrance to the toilets was free! I was surprised that we didn’t find a homeless person camped out in there.

A majestic Arc in the sunset.

Mom’s been working on her triceps lately.

In order to get to Arc Island, you had to go under the roundabout by way of Shady Tunnel 2. If I had any nefarious dealings, this is where I would conduct them.

A palace waaaay on the horizon.

Eternal flame. I was wondering what the punishment would be if you did something to put it out, like throw a pail of water or a fire blanket on it.

Boss engraving, dude.

Just kidding, guys. We didn’t really go to Paris, we just stopped by a local mall and got our pictures taken in front of exotic scenery, just like I did with Laura.

Taken on a stroll down the Champs-Elysees.
